Maybe the odd one out...
Hey there everyone! I've been reading everyone's posts saying that they cook for fun, going to culinary school or are chefs themselves...not me. I joined because I cannot cook if my life depends on it. Though, I am doing my very best to learn through everyone from my mom to online. I am very curious on what kind of methods the V-Bros use to cook certain items. They do take an interesting approach to cooking. I have thought about culinary school myself...but being a broke college student right now, its just not too possible as of right now. I love to eat...I love every kind of cuisine there is. Being Korean, I am a bit biased and have to say I love the Asian foods the most haha. Well, hopefully I can learn a little through this site about cooking. Oh, even though I was on Team Jennifer and Kevin the whole time on the show...out of the bros, I wanted Bryan to win. Sorry Michael. But congratulations on the win :D
You're not so odd after all :)  I am not a fancy chef or even an experienced fancy "home chef."  I do enjoy "playing with my food" lately.  I was inspired by Michael, Bryan, and a few others from another network (The Food Network to be precise) to break out of my usual boxed mac & cheese or same old chicken and pasta meals.  :)    Recently I made a dish using pork chops, cranberries and apples.  I pan-fried the pork chops, tossed the dried cranberries in with it and then heated the apple slices in another pan.  I put the cranberries in the center of the plate.  Then I sliced the pork chops into "sticks" and piled them up over the cranberries and placed the apple slices around the outside.  I called it campfire pork chops.  My six-year-old daughter LOVED it.  You can do it! :)
My daughter is so sweet...I just read my comment to her and she said, "You ARE a fancy home chef!"  Bless her sweet, sweet heart :)
I can't cook at all either! But I love food and watching other people cook.  I'm looking forward to trying some of their techniques and maybe start to learn more. I love Michael, too, but that's just a bonus :)
Awww (on what your daughter said) how sweet Lorionna! Thanks for the encouragement as well :)
Yeah Dawn, I just love watching others cook. Well best of luck with whatever cooking you want to do :)
Oh, my name is Tiffany btw...probably should of said that first haha.
One thing you might want to watch is videos on Youtube.  Pick something "simple" like an omelette and see who explains it well enough to make you feel like you could do it

http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=cooking%20an%20omelette&search=Search&sa=X&oi=spell&resnum=0&spell=1

and then see what else they have a video of and go from there.  Just have fun searching there and watching people making things you have been curious about- you might think Hey I could do that!  And see what happens :)
Hey justsomeazngirl if you want to learn about techniques and also have a good workbook for cooking you should check out On Cooking http://www.google.com/products/catalog?q="On+Cooking"&hl=en&cid=5108493515928107656&sa=title#pIt's a lot cheaper then culinary school and it has everything you ever wanted to know. From knife techniques to a description of herbs.
