Hey everyone,
One of the pleasures of cooking food for people is getting to see their reactions to the meal. So even though it can get busy and overwhelming in a restaurant kitchen, Bryan and I do whatever we can to make time to meet our guests. Hearing your feedback helps us find ways to improve recipes, make our kitchens more efficient, and make us better chefs.
Here are some great pictures you sent in of meeting Bryan and I in our kitchens:

"We had dinner for my husband's 40th at Volt- it had to be the most amazing meal I have had! The service was amazing and the food even better. We met a couple sitting at the table next to us and chatted all night and we even took our photos together. Bryan was so nice and gracious it was great meeting him!"
If you've taken pictures with me or Bryan, we'd really like to see them. Upload the pics to your profile and flag them as "cool".
Have a good weekend.

Haha, they were photo-bombed in that second picture.
Should definitely have had my picture taken when I was there! Bryan came over to dispense my celeriac soup (with the potatoes and roe), and that's a dish that's really stuck in my mind.
I will say you guys are really great to always welcome a meet and greet with the restaurant patrons. After one of the most amazing meals of my life, my boyfriend and i snuck a peak of the kitchen at volt. We were promptly asked if we wanted to meet Bryan. This really made the dinner an experience. Thank you!!
Just had dinner at Volt with Bryan far away–and Neil too! And yet it was still terrific.
Michael, Chris and I had a stellar meal, with fantastic service. The opportunity to meet you was the cherry on top of the entire experience. After speaking with you, I was star-struck and amazed at your down to earth personality, and literally could not stop saying "OMG, he's sooo COOL" for over an hour afterward. Thanks again! ~Lisa~
Chef Michael, Lisa and I would like to "Thank You" again for the most memorable meal of my life! Yeah, we were the crazy couple that drove up all the way from San Diego just eat dinner! Obviously the food was spectacular but what made it memorable was the whole experience: reading over the menu before we even entered, being greeted and taken care of by Robert and his wonderful waitstaff, and then having the opportunity to see not only you but to be invited into the kitchen!!! The bleu cheese disc demo was awesome(I went down to Crate n Barrel the next day and bought myself a slate)! It was very humbling to get a glimpse of your creativity and your passion for food and cooking.
Thank You Chef,Lex Asuncion
p.s. Is it true that you and Bryan are working on a book/cookbook?! If you do, please include the recipe for the "cheese churro" and/or the "smoked potato tots!"
Chef Michael was gracious enough to give us a tour of his kitchen and also demonstrated how he made the bleu cheese disc component in one of his winning dishes from Top Chef using liquid nitrogen, a whip cream canister and a slate...Mr. Achatz, we don't need your anti-griddle;-) ALSO offered us complimentary champagne on the way out!!!
The background guy in Lex's picture is awesome! EPIC!
The meal in itself was decedent and amazing, but meeting Chef Michael put the whole experience over the top! He was incredibly friendly and gracious. Many thanks for taking the time amid your busy night to meet your patrons!!
